About
A Charity for Charities
Since 2008, A Place for Good, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (Depot For Creative ReUse PCO-FTIN: 26-3966214) has been dedicated to helping good go further. We support frontline charities—those working with underprivileged youth, survivors of domestic violence, individuals experiencing homelessness, and more—by supplying them with the products, resources, and support they need to amplify their impact.
With access to a wide range of inventory and logistical expertise, we bridge the gap between surplus and need, turning generosity into real-world results. Whether it’s distributing essential goods, offering operational support, or stepping in with monetary assistance, our mission is simple: empower the helpers so they can keep helping. Together, we’re building a stronger network of compassion—one donation, one delivery, one act of kindness at a time.

From Creative Reuse to “A Place For Good”
In 2008, community advocate Lisa A. Hernandez founded the Depot for Creative ReUse in Long Beach, California, as a vibrant space where art, education, and environmental sustainability came together. The Depot quickly became a beloved hub for artists, educators, and eco-conscious creators—a place where discarded materials found new life through imagination and reuse.
Over the years, the Depot’s impact extended far beyond the art community. It inspired a movement rooted in creativity, kindness, and the belief that even the smallest resources can make a big difference. One of the early contributors to this mission was Cory Lundquist, a local artist and supporter who remained connected to Lisa and the Depot throughout its journey.
In 2025, Lisa passed the torch to Cory, entrusting him with the next chapter of the organization. With deep respect for the Depot’s legacy, Cory began reshaping its mission to address broader human needs—supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness, uplifting underprivileged youth, aiding victims of domestic violence, and helping other nonprofits doing good in the world.
This evolution brought about a new name for our public-facing work: A Place For Good. While our official name remains Depot for Creative ReUse, our focus now expands beyond materials—we’re in the business of giving second chances, whether it’s through a warm jacket, a donated supply kit, or simply a moment of hope.
And while our mission has grown, our creative spirit remains firmly planted at the core of what we do. We will always be a place where art matters—where imagination thrives, and where the reuse of materials is still a powerful act of transformation and care.
